BARGA – In considerazione del positivo riscontro avuto dallo Scottish Festival, l’associazione Bargascot ci teneva a fare alcuni ringraziamenti.
Intanto grazie a tutte le numerose persone accorse nel nostro borgo dalla Scozia e da tantissime parti d’Italia per celebrare e rafforzare questa magica connessione; al Comune di Barga che ha fatto con noi ogni piccolo passo per arrivare alla realizzazione dell’evento; alla Proloco per l’indispensabile contributo e il sostegno fornito; a Unitre Barga per gli aspetti organizzativi e culturali. E poi ancora: ai Gatti Randagi, come sempre presenti; a tutte le attività commerciali, bar, strutture ricettive e ristoranti per il grande sforzo sostenuto nel week end e per aver accolto con gioia le numerose persone intervenute; agli espositori per la partecipazione entusiastica e la resistenza dimostrata nella piovosa e difficile giornata di domenica; a Nick e alla sua Band per aver come sempre rallegrato e movimentato le vie del centro storico; a tutti gli scrittori e relatori presenti, ai proprietari di Palazzo Balduini per la concessione degli spazi; alla Fondazione Pascoli per l’evento Pascoliano; alla Fondazione Conservatorio di Santa Elisabetta, all’AS Barga per i materiali forniti; alla Società di Danza, Circolo di Lucca che purtroppo non si è potuta esibire causa maltempo. Infine a Mairi e Tuscan Skye senza i quali non sarebbe stato possibile godere della Skye Youth Pipe Band  e della Skye Highlands Dancers. Questi nuovi giovani amici che hanno affrontato un lungo viaggio, per alcuni di loro il primo, per essere alla nostra festa.

Crediamo che l’esibizione della domenica mattina sotto un incessante temporale resterà tra i ricordi più belli ed emotivamente intensi di questi giorni perché come hanno detto loro: “Oggi il tempo è perfetto… ieri faceva troppo caldo”. Siamo consapevoli che molto vada fatto per migliorare e correggere il festival, ma speriamo che la strada intrapresa sia quella giusta. Scusandoci anticipatamente con tutti quelli che avremo sicuramente dimenticato,

GRAZIE BARGA quando vuoi sei stupenda, GRAZIE SCOZIA!

Taking into consideration the huge success of the Scottish Festival, we at the Bargascot Association feel duty bound to offer our  thanks and appreciation to the numerous amount of people, who came to our town from Scotland and also from many other parts of Italy , to celebrate and strengthen this magical bond.
To the Council of Barga who accompanied us step by step, enabling us to realize this event.
To the Proloco for their appreciated contribution and total support.
To Unitre Barga for organisational and cultural aspects.
To Gatti Randaggi, as always ever present.
To all the commercial activities, bars, hospitality and restaurants for their immense effort over the weekend and their huge welcome to all the visitors who came.
To all exhibitors and stall keepers for their enthusiastic participation and endurance on a very wet Sunday.
To Nick and his band who, as always, enhance and motivate with cheerfulness the streets of Barga.
To all the writers and speakers present.
To the owners of Palazzo Balduini for allowing us to use their area.
To Fondazione Pascoli for the Pascoli event, Fondazione Conservatorio Santa Elisabetta and AS Barga, for materials supplied.
To the Society di Danza di Lucca Circolo di Lucca who unfortunately  couldn’t perform due to bad weather.
And finally to Mairi and Tuscan Skye, who without their help and participation, we would not have been able to  enjoy and admire the Skye Youth Pipe Band and the Skye Highland Dancers. A huge thank you to these wonderful new young friends who embarked on a long journey, for some their very first, to take part in our Scottish Weekend Festival.
We think their performance on a very wet and stormy Sunday morning, will be one of our most cherished memories….as they said ” today the weather is perfect…. yesterday was too hot”
We are aware that a lot more work will be needed to go into correcting and bettering the festival, but we hope that we have embarked on the right road.
