The Opera Barga Festival, at its 51st edition, will be held this year from 27th July to 5th August with the following programme: 27th July – Barga Cathedral – Opening Concert “Vespro della Beata Vergine” of Claudio Monteverdi to celebrate the 450th anniversary of his birth). Director: Federico Maria Sardelli. Choir and solists of Ricercare Ensemble and Orchestra dell’Accademia degli Invaghiti; 28th July – Theatre “dei Differenti”- Ensemble Le Musiche of Simone Bernardini; 29th July – Saint Elisabeth Cloister – Ensemble Le Musiche of Simone Bernardini; 29th July – Theatre “dei Differenti”– evening with Deborah York – Music of Antonello Privitera; 30th July – Saint Elisabeth Cloister – Ensemble Le Musiche of Simone Bernardini; 5th August – Crocefisso Church – Closing Concert – Music of Monteverdi; Director Riccardo Doni; Musical Accademy Annunciata.
With regards to the Pianobarga project 2017, the Festival prososes a series of concerts dedicated to the opera of the German composer Mendelssohn in collaboration with Roberto Prossed (from 31st July to 4th August).
There will also be a series of “Baroque Concerts” that will start at 19.00 at Casa Cordati as follows: 28th July – Bettina Hoffmann – bass viol; 2nd August – Nina Przewozniak, Francesco Olivero – violin and archlute; 4th August – Riccardo Doni – harpsichord; 5th August – Antonello Palazzolo – clavichord and piano.
