Time is running short if you haven’t yet seen the masterpieces in the Art of Italy Exhibition at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. The drama of the Baroque comes north in this show which focuses on the 17th century. Among the masterpieces on show are The Calling of Saints Peter and Andrew, recently revealed as an original work by the Italian master Caravaggio. Other highlights include Carracci’s Allegory of Truth and Time, Gentileschi’s Joseph and Potiphar’s wife, Allori’s Judith with the Head of Holofernes and drawings by Guido Reni, Guercino and Bernini.
The exhibition runs until March 8th and The Queen’s Gallery is open daily
