The traditional summer festival held in the historical centre of Barga is a must for everyone. Organised by the Town Hall and the Pro Loco, this year the festival has dropped the name “Live in Barga” and adopted its better known nickname: “Le Piazzette” (litte squares).
Thirteen days of gastronomy, music, entertainment, artistic and important cultural events all around the historical centre of Barga. A festival that has changed its look in the past years by improving the standards of proposals to become one of the most popular summer events in the Serchio Valley.
Every year thousands of visitors and above all many many tourists flock here to take part in this high quality festival.
Many squares in the historical centre will be dedicated to gastronomy with plenty of high quality live music.
During the two week festival there will be around seventy concerts in various squares like Porta Reale, Piazzale del Fosso, Piazza delle Mura, Piazza Annunziata, Piazza del Teatro, Piazza Angelio, Piazza Salvi, Terrazza Stanze della Memoria, Piazza del Sargentone, Orto della Misericordia.
During “Le Piazzette” there will also be many other events starting from the literary festival “Tra le righe di Barga” organised by Prospettiva Editrice and Libreria Poli at the beginning of the festival with the participation of famous Italian writers.
There will be also exhibitions and numerous other cultural initiatives in the Town Hall Gallery and in the museums of Barga.
